Enhancing Learning in Probability and Statistics via Symbolic Computing and Internet Technologies
Abstract:
We will strengthen our probability and statistics courses by developing three to six computer-based and Internet-accessible utility modules. Each module will focus on one key concept, and learning will be enhanced as our students become more active in the visualization of probability concepts, exploration of ideas, and the development of statistical models. Internet-accessibility will serve as the technological bridge between the Kenyon and Denison campuses, and as a medium through which we can share our work with the academic community.
